Tuesday morning I took a mountain flight to see the most formidable Himalayan peaks. It was surreal to fly alongside the summit of Mt. Everest, so stark above the earth in the golden morning sun. She is the highest mountain in the world at 29,032 feet (5.5 miles) above sea level.

I almost missed the bus to my plane because I was buying 3 Red Bulls — they don’t have full size cans here — so I’m standing there at the counter of the only shop at my gate, arms full of half size cans, watching all my fellow passengers board while the shopgirls process the line before me at a glacial pace. I made it just in time.

The way you cross the street here is insane. You cannot wait for cars or bikes or trucks or tuktuks to stop, because they won’t. There are no crosswalks and no red lights in most places. You simply step into the current in faith that they part for you as you walk across. In this spirit I crossed a 6+ lane highway yesterday hand in hand with a man who insisted on giving me a tour of his favorite Hindu shrines, before I realized it he was trying to get paid for the favor. I dislike such dishonesty and rarely — if ever — reward it.

I fly to another city today, where I will be joining the Fire and Fragrance base to begin my 6 month DTS (discipleship training school). Follow @thedevinsnyder on instagram for real time updates, photos & reels of the adventure.
Dear Dev-
You’ve been a DIT at least since the first day I met you. A beautiful butterfly flitting here and there, but not without purpose.
You are not a drain, but a fountain! God is pouring in and you are bubbling over with excitement. I believe you are on your way to the “abundant life.” No fear. 2 Tim 1:7
Go and multiply The Faith! He is with you wherever you go! Joshua 1:9
with live and payers,
